Week 34

31 days until I get induced! Yes, every week I am going to give you the countdown!! I am still OVER IT! But still want him to stay in there until the end of May. I want to be able to enjoy my maternity leave and I want to be able to leave the house!! So I am hoping the longer he stays put the more normal things will be. My baby app makes it sound like he is ready to come out!! They estimate him around 18 inches long and around 5lbs. His lungs, brain and central nervous system keep rapidly developing and all but the lungs are reaching their final stage of development in the womb. I can tell my body is getting ready. Every morning when I wake up my hips hurt really bad. I have a lot of pressure super low and get weird pains down there too.

I’ve noticed I’ve done some nesting! I cleaned the refrigerator, pantry, Tupperware cabinet, spice cabinet all out and cleaned out the random stuff that was in the top of Mason’s closet. I’m hoping the week of the 29th I can get a sitter for Mya and do some deep cleaning!

As long as the weather is decent we have been walking before dinner. Mya lovessss going on walks. It’s nice to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air and it is basically the only exercise I am getting right now. We don’t go super far and we have to walk extra slow. By the end of the walk I’m having Braxton Hicks. Basically my stomach gets really tight and it feels like a bad cramp. Once we get home and I sit down they go away. I told Nick this week I feel like if we keep doing this it’s going to put me into labor. I am still sleeping terrible. I literally lay in bed at night physically exhausted but wide away for hours.

Onto something that isn’t 100% pregnancy related.

You ever crave just really specific things? Not just a food, but the whole atmosphere and experience? My list of I can’t wait to or things I’ve been craving has been increasing. Some of them are far-fetched and won’t happen because we will have a new born, but here is what I’m currently craving!

-Sitting outside looking at the beach from Primanti Brother’s in Ft Lauderdale eating pizza and drinking beer. If you ever go to Ft Lauderdale you have to go here and have the pizza! It is by the slice and it is the best pizza ever!!

-Destin (the whole place and everything about it), I can’t wait for our trip in August even though I know it will be different because we will have a 2 month old! & obviously if it doesn’t get cancelled because of COVID-19.

-Day drinking at Tin Roof watching sports with Nick and having queso. I miss sportssss. Nick and I always take a day off during the NCAA tournament and just go watch games and day drink. This didn’t happen this year because of no sports and pregnancy, so I’m already looking forward to this day next year!

-Breakfast at West Egg Café in Chicago. We have breakfast here every time we visit Chicago. It’s so good!

-Mexico. I NEED a Mexico trip!!!!!! More specifically though, dinner at the Italian restaurant at the Princess (our favorite resort). Nick and I always get wine drunk and sit there for hours having the best conversations.

-Date night with live music and draft beer at the Blind Squirrel.

I think there is a trend… Nick, food and alcohol.  We so need an adult, no kids, date night where I can drink!

For the record, as much as it seems like based on my recent post and the above, I’m not an alcoholic. I enjoy socially drinking and have desperately missed it this pregnancy. It is hard when everyone else around you still gets to drink and you can’t. I think that factor alone makes me want it more.  I really don’t think men could do it. No beer for 9 months? Nick wouldn’t last a month. Certain environments or events just go better with beer.

What is your favorite beer? Shower beer, grass cutting beer, kids just went to bed beer, bonfire beer, it’s only Wednesday beer, NTI beer? I’d love to hear yours!!

Mine are as follows:

  • Pool/beach beer
  • Airport beer
  • Friday after work beer
